Next screening is the day immediately after the Easter bank holiday Monday on Tuesday 2nd April 2013. Our April film is 'The Beasts of Southern Wild' nominated for four Oscars and set in a post-Hurricane Katrina Louisiana. Membership may be renewed on the night. Whether primary or post primary teachers share similar practice and enjoy learning from each other The annual Athy College Art Exhibition had a special addition as it also acted as a fundraiser for Athy College art teacher Mary McKenna who goes to India this summer with the Global Schoolroom to teach teachers. Guest at the exhibition was Garreth Campbell, founder of the Global Schoolroom.
The exhibition has gone from strength to strength over the years and this year excelled all expectations. See pics of the exhibits here. This year the event is being held in support of the Global Classroom as one of our Art teachers is volunteering in India this summer Athy College in conjunction with Kildare VEC is delighted to announce two scholarships to the Gaeltacht in Cheathrú Rua this summer.
