Robbie Smithers Wins.
Congratulations to former Athy College student Robbie Smithers who rode his first winner for his trainer, Mick Halford, on a horse called Castle Guest in the 5:05 at the Curragh Racecourse on Sunday 7th August. Robbie has been an apprentice in the Halford yard since he graduated from the Race Academy in 2014. All at Athy College have been watching his career progression with keen interest and we wish him well for the future.
You can watch Robbie's full race if you click on this link, http://www.attheraces.com/atrplayer-replay-overlay/VOD/951419
Great news about Emer Bradley who has just completed her Junior Cert. in Athy College. Emer has been accepted by the Race Academy and will begin her training for 2016/2017 on the 27th August. We wish her well  for the future.
Finally,  Conor Casey who graduated from the Race Academy on the 24th June continues to make progress in Dermot Weld's yard.
Athy College values it's link with the Race Academy and we hope to continue to provide students  with an interest in the Equine Industry a means of furthering  their career options.
