Changes from Feb 28th

24/2/2022

Following changes to Covid regulations we will be relaxing some of our Covid regulations and reintroducing some procedures.

MASKS

From 28th February (the day we return after mid term) masks are no longer compulsory.  However, staff and students can decide for themselves whether they wish to or not.  As previously, limited supplies of masks will be available.

CHANGING ROOMS

Changing rooms at the sports hall will reopen.  This will allow students to change for matches and PE.  No longer will students be allowed to wear PE gear coming to or going from school and normal sporting activity can resume.

TOILETS

The capacity of student and staff toilets will no longer be restricted.  Students are reminded to make use of toilets during the designated break times as use of toilets outside of these times has hygiene and cleaning implications which we must minimise.

GROUP WORK IN CLASS

Group work in the classroom can resume as the proximity regulations are lifted.  Both teachers and students will strongly welcome this as the dynamic of the classroom will return to being more active.

ONE WAY SYSTEM

The one way system around the school continues.  This is for the day to day management of the school as we have nearly 600 students in an area designed for 400.  However there will be changes to many of the routes external to the building as having many doors open compromises our safety and comfort.

DOOR CLOSURES

External doors will be closed and the entry point to the school returns to the front door only.  The door goes on a timelock so it is VERY IMPORTANT THAT STUDENTS ARE ON TIME FOR SCHOOL.  Lateness for class also disrupts other students.

UNIFORM

After mid term break students are expected to be in full uniform (including school jacket).  We have been fortunate to be successful in sporting activities and have also been visited by national television in the past term. Attendance at matches, outings or on television must be limited to those who have full uniform so it is in everyones interest that we present ourselves properly.  If there are difficulties with the uniform please let us know.

HAND SANITISERS

Hand sanitising units will remain outside classrooms and students are encouraged to use them for their own protection.

FOOD CLUB

We are engaging with our caterers to return to the provision of hot food as soon as possible.  Please bear with us on this as it takes time to reestablish some of the procedures which involved the collection of money etc which still presents a problem. We hope to begin on a trial basis from Mon 28th.

MEETINGS AND ASSEMBLIES

We look forward to resuming meetings with parents and assemblies with students after a long absence.  This is particularly important for the new parents with whom we have not had the chance to meet at all and incoming students for Sept 2022.

Graduations and Endeavour Awards will be live events this year
