We have for many years operated a Book Rental Scheme, particularly for those who might experience financial hardship. We will be sending you a form which will entitle you to a reduction on the cost. You will receive a bill during the first week of school which includes:
- Book Rental
- Locker
- 24 Hour Insurance
- Mock exams
- ID Cards
- Prizes, etc
There has never been family contributions or any other charges.
We are a Google Reference School (and the first in Ireland) because we use GSuite for Education for the delivery of much of our material both in class and through homework. We ask parents to please provide a Chromebook (which is the cheapest and most efficient of all of the laptops) for your student. Chromebooks start at around €150/200) We have a strong WiFi connection throughout the school and have had great success (particularly through Covid) with this method. We try to limit books as much as possible and encourage teachers to use their own material in class. Very many of the textbooks can remain at home as reference books for homework. This year we had some Chromebooks available for rent but with the increased numbers we would find it very difficult in the coming year.
A list of the School Uniform is available here. You have chosen to be part of our school so we ask you to show belonging by having the correct uniform - this includes the jacket!
What subjects will they do?
Later I will be in touch to arrange subject choices. Students sit Junior Cycle at the end of third year and it is recommended that they do around 8 subjects for examination. This year all do:
English, Irish(Gaeilge), Maths, Science, History, Geography,PE, Religion, CSPE, SPHE,
With options of
French or Spanish
And some electives: Home Ec, Wood, Metal, Music, Art, Tg, Business, etc
Next year should be similar but we will be in touch about this in springtime.
If you decide not to take a place with us, even after accepting it, please let us know as soon as possible, as we would like to offer it to the next person on the waiting list.
If you decide to join us please cancel any places which you may have booked in other schools who, like us, probably have waiting lists and you may be preventing someone else from getting a school place
Please take time to fill out the form below.
Best wishes,
R. Daly
