Athy College 6th year students enjoying Brian Mooney's interview at the opening of the Irish Times Higher Options Virtual Conference 2021 which opened today. Our 6th Years are looking forward to fully engaging online at this conference over the next two days.
TY students get to grips with cycling as more and more of our students are opting for the environmentally friendly sport and means of transport. Already over 120 applications for the 160 places available next September. On 22nd October enrolment DEFINITELY closes and further applications will be on waiting list
This evening's Parent Teacher meeting for Third years is temporarily postponed until after Hallowe'en when restrictions shoould be lifted

Great to see the arrival of three of our additional classrooms. These rooms should be commissioned and in use by Hallowe'en. A further temporary Science room and Art room are expected before the end of the academic year.
No, not yet the major construction job but the installation of three temporary classrooms which will be operational after Hallowe'en. A further two classrooms will be installed later in the year. We look forward to work beginning on our major extension next year.
With seven first year classes filled to capacity and waiting lists for most years we look forward to major advancement in our building project in the year ahead. In the interim we will be taking possession of three additional classrooms with two further classrooms to be delivered later. Construction and installation of prefabs is to begin tomorrow.
We have increased our teaching staff this year by five additional posts which offers a wider range of subjects to all students. A preview of school life will be available on our website tomorrow evening at 7pm and enrolment for 2022/23 takes place during the month of October so watch this space. Students intending to enrol for September 2022 will get an online glimpse of school life at Athy College on Thur evening (23rd Sept) at 7 pm in advance of enrolment which takes place from 1st October until Hallowe’en break (22nd Oct). Normally we have both an open Evening and an Open Day which attracts hundreds of visitors but due to Covid we are confined to an online presentation.
