For the Birds

Athy College is delighted to be involved with Crown Packaging, Athy in helping to promote our natural environment.  Crown Packaging have dedicated a section of land as natural enviromnment of wildgrasses to promote bird activity adjacent to the canal.  Our students had the pleasure of designing and constructing birdhouses under the guidance of Mr McDonagh through a competition sponsored by Crown Packaging.  Thanks to Graham Bourne whose brainchild this venture is.  All are winners as the winner (Adam Zinn Collis) and the runners up all receive prizes and the remaining birdhouses will find tenants with the support of Athy Tidy Towns.  All round a great community project thanks to Crown Packaging.
