 On Thursday 25th of October the 1st year girls futsal team travelled to Clongowes Wood College for the Kildare schools FAI indoor soccer blitz. There were 8 schools competing in the blitz with two groups of four. Athy College didn't make it out of their group and make the final however there were great goals scored by Georgina Grufferty and Erin Brereton Foley. Other notable performances on the day included brilliant defensive displays by Molly Doyle Walsh, Zoe Bell and Gabija Svetokaite. Lea Zawada and Naomi Kelly Burke worked hard all day in attack and defence and Hannah McDermott, Sarah Grimes and Maya Kalenbet were solid in goals throughout the tournament. The team really enjoyed the blitz and will resume training after the midterm break.  Comments are closed.
