Getting Bigger

Athy College is soon to be part of a much larger organisation.  The VEC provision has grown from strength to strength over the years and on 1stJuly the VECs of Kildare and Wicklow will merge to create a new entity – Kildare and Wicklow ETB (Education and Training Board).  The board will have Mr Sean Ashe as CEO  with 21 second level schools catering for in excess of 20,000 students including adult and further education.  The ETB has a number of new schools under construction and will have a combined staff of almost 2500
