On Your Bike

We would like to encourage more students to take to the bicycle?.  This does not just take encouragement it also requires action.  We need a safe space for bicycles on our routes to schools,  We need locations in town to lock up bikes (cycle racks) and we need to look at a changing culture where currently individual cars are dropping one student to school.
Our weather is not a whole lot different than Amsterdam where everybody cycles.  We need to exploit the potential of the Blueway and make Athy a cycle friendly destination.  Ask your politicians how they can make the cycle routes to school more safe, be a tolerant driver/pedestrian on school routes and get 'on your bike'.  Make this town Cycle friendly.
