In order to make the return to school as safe as possible Athy College are staggering the return of all classes over three days after Easter. It has been almost 4 months since we have had full student attendance and we need to reestablish our Covid safety practices as well as ensuring that all of our students have access to devices. It is less than two months to the Leaving Certificate examinations and we need to ensure that the school is a safe environment to allow these examinations to continue.
We ask parents to remind students about masks, hand sanitisation, social distance and that the school has to insist on full compliance. We thank you for your support in this matter and for not visiting the school during the school day. We are sorry than many of the extra curricular activities are not possible but with seven weeks to go we will make every effort to keep each other safe until the end of term. On Monday 12th 6th years. 5th years, and 1st years will return On Tuesday 13th 3rd years and TYs will also return On Wednesday 14th 2nd years will also return Mask breaks and outside walks will continue. As much as possible dining will take place outside. One way system will be strictly enforced. End of day departures will continue to be staggered from 3.30 onwards. For the first two days classes which are not attending should continue joining classes online. Students who have been abroad or who have been in close contact with Covid infection should remain at home and follow HSE directions. Likewise students with any illness or symptoms should not attend school. We need everyone's support to ensure that school and necessary end of year events and exams can take place so let’s work together and make this happen - safely! Comments are closed.
