The Junior Cert is Finished

“The Junior Cert is Finished” was the main message from principal Richard Daly to a gathering of parents at Athy College last night.

“From this June the New Junior Cycle is the only game in town.  Over the past three years this programme has been prepared for with new examinations starting with English this June. Examinations in other subjects will follow from next year onwards.  In English, students have been doing class based assessments which will form a percentage of their examination next summer.  All of our teachers are now fully trained in this exciting new programme which replaces the old Junior Cert and is a far more comprehensive account of students work and achievement”
