We are 80!

This academic year Athy College celebrates 80 years of delivering education in Athy. Over those years we have provided second level education, apprentice and secretarial, adult evening and post leaving certificate courses. A former teacher Stephen Cullinane was founder of Macra na Feirme and many staff have been pioneers in technological, industrial and educational change at national level.

Athy College is about to embark on its second major building programme inside a decade. Plans for the new extension,which will bring capacity to 1000, are completed and about to go to construction

We will be celebrating our involvement in education and our community over the coming months.

To launch our 80th year we will be celebrating student achievement by joining the Made of Athy project to unveil a plaque to past student Séamus Malone who has won acclaim internationally for his extraordinary animation work.
