Athy College students from Willow and Clonmacnoise recently completed the CPR 4 Schools workshop in association with the Irish Heart Foundation.
StudeAthy College students were treated to some extraordinary good advice when they were addressed by Elma Walsh, mother of the late Donal Walsh who lost his life to cancer at age 16. Elma relayed Donal's positivity by telling students to live life and enjoy it to be the best that you can be. She emphasised the value of sleep, outdoor exercise and spirituality. A most riveting address to a captive audience. Students then presented her with a cheque for €470 which had been contributed. Her talk kicks off a week of events for Athy College Mental Health Week.
On their final evening with us at Athy College our visiting Japanese students gave a presentation about their homeland to their host families. To finish the night the students gave a meaningful rendition of our national anthem
Athy College wishes a "Bon Voyage" and a safe return to Marissa Lenihan who is taking a temporary "school experience" in Australia for the next six weeks. Marissa leaves behind our duller weather as she experiences an Australian summer while taking her studies abroad. We wish her a safe return in March
